      Hi Emily,
Theyre are a few things that cause depression but it is mainly the way are brains are made can cause some people to have depression or some peole to not suffer from it. There was a really cool experiment where an MRI machine was used to look at identical twins brains. One of the twins then went off to fight in a war and when they came back the were suffering from depression. So they looked at that twins brain again and saw changes in the shape of the brain.
      Pretty cool!
There are also chemicals in your brain that some people don’t have as many of them chemicals. But you can naturally increase these chemicals by doing this like excercise.

      Hey Emily!

There are a few causes of depression. It can be caused by a really bad event in your life. Or by other diseases like stroke or diabetes, some medications can even cause depression

There’s also a few mental illnesses like Major Depressive Disorder which can cause a constant depressed feeling.

What each of these causes do is create a imbalance in the chemical in your brain.

Just remember that it’s good to talk to someone if you ever feel depressed. A person is at their strongest when they’re willing to be vulnerable.
