      Hey Orla,

Pigs have kind of a bad press! Eat like a pig, live like a pig. Poor pigs!

It’s also a tricky question, it’s kind of hard to find solid estimates on how much pigs, and other animals eat (especially animals that graze!), but here’s the best I’ve got! (remember they’re rough estimates)

Pigs eat about 2.5 pounds of food a day.

My last dog was a big Rottweiler, and he was always eating. They’d eat about 2 pounds a day.

Sheep can eat about 6 pounds a day!
And goat only eat about 1/2 a pound a day.

So no, I don’t think pigs eat too much than most animals, but again, this is only a rough estimate.

What pigs are though, is very very clever. They can be trained to play video games they’ve never seen before. See: http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/wild/videos/pig-video-game/

So let’s be nice about pigs, they’re cool!
